Carrs established its position as an agricultural supplier with the amalgamation of several small businesses which operated within agricultural in the north of the country, namely Thomas Edmondson of Penrith, Reeves of Moffat and Oliver and Snowden of Carlisle. These were all pulled together to form Carrs Farm Foods and in 1990 this became Carrs Agriculture, forming the foundation of the organisation we have today.

Carrs Billington Agriculture came about with the joint venture between Carrs Agriculture, and Edward Billington & Son Ltd. Since the formation of this venture, Carrs Billington Agriculture continued to expand and has become a leading supplier of agricultural products to farmers in the UK.

Today, the business operates compound feed mills at Carlisle, Lancaster and Stone and has blend plants at Kirkbride in Cumbria, at Lancaster and in Wales. It currently has 32 Country Stores throughout Northern England, Scotland and Wales, several of which have machinery sales and service departments and fuel distributions depots.

Carrs Billington has a specialist team of nutritionists formulate feeds in line with the latest research and development, constantly updating our range so that there is a product to meet our customers’ requirements.

Our farm assurance scheme provides full and comprehensive traceability, ensuring customers can have complete confidence in product quality. Carrs Billington’s quality control system allows us to trace every feed delivery and the source of raw materials used in its manufacture.
